SOIL Rumored To Have Tapped Former SHINEDOWN Guitarist

June 23, 2008

Chicago heavy rockers SOIL are rumored to have recruited former SHINEDOWN guitarist Jasin Todd as the replacement for Shaun Glass, who left the band last year due to "personal differences."

SOIL previously announced that it would not seek a replacement for Glass but would remain a four-piece, with vocalist AJ Cavalier filling in on some of the guitar duties. However, those plans now appear to have changed.

SOIL recently inked a deal with Driven Music Group the Phoenix, Arizona-based music label and entertainment company created by Brian "Head" Welch, a founding member, songwriter and guitarist from the multi-platinum rock band KORN for the release of its next studio album, tentatively due in early 2009.

Upcoming SOIL shows:

June 29 - The Chance - Poughkeepsie, NY
July 01 - Starland Ballroom - Sayreville, NJ (w/ TYPE O NEGATIVE)
July 02 - Trocadero - Philadelphia, PA (w/ TYPE O NEGATIVE)
July 03 - House Of Blues - Cleveland, OH (w/ TYPE O NEGATIVE)
July 05 - The Norva - Norfolk, VA (w/ TYPE O NEGATIVE)

SOIL's latest CD, "True Self", was released in May 2006 via DRT Entertainment. The follow-up to 2004's "Redefine" was recorded and mixed at Bomb Shelter studios in Los Angeles, California with producer Ulrich Wild (STATIC-X, TAPROOT).

Todd was arrested in April in Florida on disorderly intoxication and resisting-an-officer charges.
